Flying from Europe to JFK, AA his a duty free shop on the plane--so I am confused as to why they don't have a similar setup for China to the US.
There are a few airports, MCO is one, where after CBP, you still have to clear TSA, whether your are connecting or terminating, this is discussed in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/pract...stoms-tsa.html
I used to buy Remy Martin XO cognac from AA's DF shop (the price was considerably cheaper than the DF shops in ZRH, CDG or LHR; especially when they (periodically) had an additional discount). BUT I did some searching on the internet and found Remy XO for $30 less than AA, from a liquor store in the USA--I wonder if similar discounts are available for other liquors?
