You should definitely join Asia Miles, just to collect miles and maybe someday earn a free flight or a free upgrade or something. AM doesn't cost anything to join.

I wouldn't pay $50 for MPC green. You can see the list of benefits here (not much for green members). If I remember correctly, HKG allows MPC green to check on the elite lines. So you might get a slightly faster check in experience there. Otherwise not much.
