I dont see where the confusion can come from.
AA ticket almost always has one year validity from the date of ISSUANCE, not from the date of travel.
The No Restriction on the Maximum / Minimum stay simply means that you can stay as long or as short at each stopover WITHIN the confine of the one year validity from the date of TICKETING.
The reissuance date would not extend the ticket's validity from the initial issuance. Last year or even earlier, there was discussion on this subject in the "other site"

I read that BA has some rare incidents that a ticket can be valid longer than 12 months from issuance but those are not the norm and actually require some maneuver to make it work based on the old threads in BA forum - i.e. it is not something that is automatic based on the fare rules.
