I can only speak for Sweden and pat downs.

A pat down there is what we have always called a pat down. That does not include butts, genitals and/or breasts.

If those parts need to be searched only same gender can do it. And a doctor or a nurse can do this no matter gender.

And then it is not called pat down but body inspection.

No screener can do "private" search on an opposite gender.
