This is an excellent policy and one which should have been introduced decades ago.

I'm very proud to be British and to welcome those who wish to come here, but also to ensure that the numbers we grant citizenship to are sustainable, and as far as possible able to support themselves rather than be a burden on the State.

This is similar to the firm but fair policies seen in Australia.
