a non-sedative antihistamine will only help you avoid sneezing/itching or other allergy symptoms. Since its non-sedative, it won't make you drowsy... hence, nor will it help you to sleep...
So if you want to use an antihistamine to help you nod off, it needs to be one with sedative effects and you just have to accept the drowsiness sideshow!
