I thought they just arranged everything nicely when they came into my room. My guess was that unless requested, they just keep everything tidy in the room and make sure you have sufficient supplies of soap, shampoo, etc. It should be similar to the towels in the bathroom. If you hang them up, I think they just re-fold them back on the rack. If it's on the floor, it means, please exchange. I'm not saying you should throw the pillows/sheets on the floor (those should be upon request)
