Sure, but I use Avios all year round.

Most far ahead has been six months, some two months, some two weeks and often a few days ahead. Many are for the next day or the day itself!

I never seem to have an issue with space in all four cabins but I generally go for CW or F.

These, from memory, are the routes I have redeemed to and from in the last five years - with no great issues about finding space on the right dates either - EZE, SFO, LAX, JFK, ATL, YUL, NRT, TLS (all the time!) BOD, AMS, CDG, EBB, CAI, TIP, MEX, NBO, GRU

MFUs have come easily on EBB, SYD, MEX and all US cities.

Never tried South Africa...

I'll be sure to post if I ever really hit a brick wall, but so far so good ^

I usually do one Upper Class redemption per year on VS too and that always seems to work.

I occasionally I have had to use Flying Blue or Star Alliance miles if a bit stuck but that is very rare.

What I'm trying to say is that all in all I'm very happy with the way in which my airline loyalty programmes work for me, although BAEC is the only one I know the 'ins and outs' of... life is too short for other forums, ts and cs etc.
