This assumes that the OP has enough connecting time in HKG to do this without risk of missing the plane. Hong Kong immigration lines can be long. It also assumes that nothing in the cabin with the OP, including the alcohol, would cause problems with Hong Kong customs. The latter, however, is unlikely, but it would be wise to compare duty free alcohol allowances of Hong Kong and Australia when planning this mission.
