I've spent lots of time in DEN and though it isn't the most exciting of airports it is a pretty easy one to transfer in and kill some time in.
I was wondering the same thing and he gave me some wrong info. He is flying YWG-YQR-DEN(Managed to get on the same flight as us)-LAS.

1 hour and 20 min enough to clear immigration at DEN and customs/security?

Sorry about all these questions, I just realize I can't remember the last time I connected in the states to go US... Probably about 30 times through YVR.

EDIT:As noted above, he will not check a bag if it is tight.
