Flew on AC1115 yesterday morning. Requested eUpgrade at exactly T-7 (to the minute). It was at J-5 and no R space for most of the week. The day before the flight it went to J-7. I looked on KVS a couple hours before the flight, and then again 20 minutes BEFORE BOARDING and it was still at J-7.
I get to the gate, and ask the lucky if "it's my lucky day in terms of an upgrade" and she said, "sorry sir, we put as many people as we could from the waitlist", though she didn't ask me my name, and when I told her my name she said "oh you are one of the lucky THREE that did get upgraded, quite a few didn't on this flight."
Once on board, J was full, and there was a mother and her two young daugthers (who make jlissi look like an old man

) in J.
Anyway, my question is, how come only three people got eUpgraded at the gate when it was at J-7? did others get op-ups even though there was quite a bit of room in the back? And how did two girls who almost certainly didn't have status get in J when status passengers didn't? It wasn't LMU's because it was J7 - 20 minutes before the flight. And even if the mom is an SE, how did her daughters trump the other status PAX on the waitlist?
Thoughts anyone?
