Why can't you just punch in the dates you want to stay and see all the available room options? The work around only works if the rooms were ever imputed into the reservation system to begin with. Up to the property. But if it were me & I booked a concierge access room for extra $$ on a weekend over a non-concierge access room for a lesser rate on the weekend & the lounge was closed, I'd have a serious conversation with the hotel management about getting brekkie certs.
Of course I would have checked first on whether the lounge was open, but I bet there are people that don't & then find out the hard way they're paying for something they're not getting, so I think those folk should be pushing for brekkie certs.
