In my experience at the IC SF and IC MH in San Francisco I have always been told the club access is for two people (myself and one guest). Whenever I walk in with another person I am welcomed and they never seemed to question the other person with me. As these are my "home" hotels I am used to bringing in a guest. From reading I see that their polices may be a bit more liberal than other IC hotels...
