Most airline computer systems will highlight a misconnect so the agent can address it. I know the previous UA system did. UA agents used to be alerted to a problem on their screen, and that would prompt them to address it.

SHARES may not do that. In fact, I know that SHARES will allow you to ticket an itinerary with an illegal or negative connection, so highlighting problems on the screen may not be something it does.
