Flight Attendants Able to Slightly Change Cabin Pressue?

So, we are flying tomorrow for the first time with our little one. A colleague of Mrs. GoCanes told her that when they recently flew their infant, they were advised by their pediatrician to speak with the flight attendant to have the cabin pressure slightly changed as to make it at the safest level for the infant. I have never heard of this.

So, before I make a fool of myself on my flight tomorrow, can anyone advise if this is legit?
