No he hasn't. Dig up the quote. He simply said that Star weren't their only option if they chose to join an alliance in response to a journalist's leading "when are you going to join star alliance?" question. He also attended the *A CEOs gathering last year and as far as i know he hasn't done the same for Skyteam.
Not saying that they will join star or they won't join sky team but both are active possibilites (alongside the much more obvious: we will explore mutually convenient partnerships where they suit us).
