It's trying to sleep on the way over that isn't great on the 763, but much better than the 333.

However, I just flew in one of the 764 lie-flats (3A) from ATL to LHR, and I got SIX hours of sleep. It was the 22:45 departure so I went to sleep just after take-off. I slept through the entire meal service without a problem, and only awakened briefly a couple of times. I've slept well on the BA 777 WBC a few times, but this was similar.

My wife hates those angled lie-flats as much as me, and is going to fly to AMS, connecting through LHR, just to avoid them.
I'm pretty indifferent between the old BusinessElite seat now just on the 763 and the old World Business Class seats on the A330. Neither is great for sleeping, but still better than coach of course.

But I completely agree with you on the 764 lie-flats, and especially DL10, the late 10:45 p.m. departure ATL-LHR. I think that's now my favorite Delta flight to Europe. I took that last week, went to sleep right after 10,000 fleet and snoozed sounded for almost seven hours, until we were on approach to Heathrow. I swung by the Yotel for a quick shower, hopped on the tube, and was in the city by 14:30, fully awake and refreshed for my afternoon engagements. The late departure combined with the terrific 764 seat really made a great experience. Leaving the East Coast near midnight is so much better than the flights that leave around 6 p.m. and land in Europe around midnight U.S. ET.
