Technically no, they should charge you for the guest's consumption. But I've never found a hotel that actually did it. Of course it will just be their local call so I wouldn't bank on it, and I wouldn't complain if they did.
Fair enough and thanks for the info. I think the girl did the right thing (by my friend and I, at least). Seems as if she resloved the (potential) issue professionally and reasonably discretely but I just wasn't sure what the rules were.
It gets kind of confusing with all the individual rules. Qantas Club = one set of rules, Qantas J or F lounge= a different set, IC Club Lounge= yet another set, etc.
