<sniff> I've never done the store bought.
It's so easy to do it yourself:
1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
2. Slice potatoes. I prefer round slices, but you can easily do spears too.
3. Put sliced potatoes in a baking pan. I like to chop up an onion too, and put it in the pan.
4. Drizzle a good amount of olive oil on it all, enough to coat the potatoes thinly. Add salt and pepper to taste.
5. Shake it all up to mix and coat the potatoes in oil.
6. Bake for 50-70 minutes, shaking the pan every 10-15 minutes. More thinly sliced potatoes need less time. You might need a spatula to move pieces that stick to the bottom of the pan.
Also works great with sweet potatoes.
