I fall into the leisure category with 4 - 5 flights pa., self-funded and usually in CE/CW/WT.
Whilst I cannot relate to many of the threads about daily evolutions in GF/CCR/F product, I think its natural that such a forum will attract the most frequent of fliers who are therefore more likely to travel in these cabins and lounges through work or large mileage balances - that to me, is a good thing as these people are the ones who are more likely to have the best tips and advice on various flights, lounges, meals, connections and the like. I think the quality of advice would not be as great on this board if it was full of people like me
I have had the good fortune of travelling First recently for the first time (upgrade from CW with miles). Whilst I enjoyed the experience, it is certainly not worth the incremental fare above CW (which is usually £'000s) unless one bought it in the current exceptional Sale we have on - however it is probably good to moderate value if paid in miles. Based on my one experience I think the issue many people have when criticising First is that BA charges (and waxes lyrical about) a heavy premium for its First service and it is totally logical (whether paid in cash or miles) that you expect to get a mind-blowing step up above Club World when the reality is that it isn't - in my view, the complaints are often justified.
True the F-flying proportion is small to the whole of BA but for many people like me the advice I have had has been invaluable in building up miles balances, choosing best seats, best lounges and other great tips.
