I sometimes leave the secured area via that tunnel. I've never cleared security there, but I do not believe the low ceiling will allow them to put a MMW machine in there.
While it is convenient and generally not busy, be aware that it is not always open, either. I have passed by it (going the other way) when it has been closed.
