In most frequent guest program once a status is earned it is valid for the remaining membership year and the next full membership year. In my past experience it is also true for HHonor Dinning, but I cannot find any such reference for iDine.
A response for my Facebook message suggests otherwise. I wonder if anyone has the experience yet?
If you earn VIP dining status today (6/12/12), you'll be VIP for the dining program until 12/31/13. Each January every dining program resets to 0. That means that you will have to dine 11 times in 2013 to keep your VIP status for 2014.
Just dine 11 times each year and your VIP status will never end. I have been a VIP for 5 years straight years in all my dining programs.
