I think it is all to do with the introduction of MF crews. I may have it all wrong and I am sure a BA lurker will correct me, but I think the MF CC work as a team and that there is a line manager who is responsible for the CC team and is on board. Under the old system the line manager for a member of CC did not fly and as such had no personal view of the CC member's performance.
As I understand it under the old system each member of a CC could have a different line manager, whereas under the MF system there is one line manager for the whole CC team.
