Hi, I'm looking for advice/feedback on airfares... I'm not the expert flyer that some folks here are, so please be gentle with me!
I have searched this topic, and I saw a few posts about this - one of which made me feel hopeful - but if anyone else has any thoughts I'd be pleased to hear them.
I'm flying to Europe in the fall, and I'm seeing ads for a company Regal Wings, that offers a very nice price on a business-class seat. Like, a thousand dollars less than the airlines, and believe me I have searched and searched *extensively*! With the big travel search engines, and by going to all the airlines sites to look for sales, too.
I don't expect to pay an economy price for a business ticket, but if I could get them for even around 4K each instead of 5K, well - that's two thousand dollars, and that's worth asking around about! This is an anniversary trip for my husband and I, and we'd love to not spend 10+ hours cramped in a tiny economy seat.
So, has anyone actually *used* this company? Or any other ones like them?
(I asked a travel agent, but she said her agency "didn't work with consolidators". I'm not sure what to make of that.)
Regal Wings say they are NOT award-ticket sellers, which I know are a violation of the airlines rules. So I don't want one of those! But how can I know if I am getting a legitimate ticket?
My idea at the moment is: buy the ticket and then *immediately* call the airline and ask them if it is valid. If it is, great. Worst case scenario: the airline says it's bogus, I call my CC company, tell them it's fraudulent and deny the charge.
But if I get the ticket, and the airline says it's good, then it's good, right?
Thanks in advance for any wisdom...
(I know this is my first post and I'm asking about a business. But really, I am not a shill and I am certainly not recommending anything! If you'd rather PM me with your opinion so it doesn't seem like we're advertising inappropriately, that's fine too.)
