So, Finnair left my bag in Helsinki yesterday on a BKK-HEL-LHR routing-- it was a tight connection and the incoming flight was late, and I guess they decided not to wait to load the bags. So at LHR, the desk (outsourced) for lost bags was crowded with folks who also had lost their bags. OK, not great, since I have no other clothes and a meeting to get to today.
The baggage guy asked me to fill in a form, and said that the bag would come on the later flight arriving at 21:00, and he "could not estimate" when it would be delivered to my hotel, but that it would definitely come in the evening. This morning-- no bag.
Even better, on the sheet of paper they give you, they direct you to the Finnair website which tells me that "baggage delivery initiated" (what does this mean, exactly), and then once the bag has been located, can check the website:
www.aviationlogistics.uk.com
The only problem is that the website does not exist, and the baggage guys will only answer their phone at 8 a.m.
The whole thing feels quite disorganized. I fly a lot with OW, but mostly with CX, BA, and JAL-- this is quite unusual, in my experience.
