A BA voucher can be used for BA, AA and AS flights booked through the BA calling center. If they book you onto a AA/AS flight number, you might be able to get status miles, as well.

Otherwise, if the T&C do not prevent this, you could sell the voucher and spend cash on flights that are better suited.
