I agree. I am a 2P but will be traveling with 1 or 2 other people who have no status and, because we are meeting in either IAD or IAH for the long-haul, we won't be on the same record. As a result, I don't believe I have any way to "sponsor" them to E+ with me, do I (aside from asking really nicely in the UA Club, which for a long-haul flight, I presume will be unlikely to work)? Depending on how much I like them come October, I may ditch them for E+ at check-in but I am not sure.
