I have two more question for you all! Everyone is so knowledgable here.
My husband will be flying through LHR on BA July 8 (next month) for work (he's heading on to Hyderabad, India). He will have a layover in LHR.
My first question is, does anyone here know if the agents who work in the 1st Class Lounge at LHR have the ability to book tickets with Avios, or is that something that can only be done over the phone?
I'm asking because July 8 is about the time when potentially seats could open up for our family for our trip summer 2013. So, if the agents in the 1st class lounge do have the ability to book avios seats, that could be perfect timing.
The second question is since my husband is Gold (my kids and I are silver -- we have a family account), and my husband is the one in our family who has all the Avios to use on our family trip, does my husband have to be the person to call BA (the Gold number) to book the seats with Avios, or can I call the Gold number for him to book the seats? I'm asking because while he's in India on business, it might be hard for him to call often to see if seats are available. So, it'd be easier on him if I could call the BA Gold number during that time to see if seats have come available. But, I don't know if it has to be the actual Gold card holder that has to call, or if being his spouse and part of the household account, I can call, even though I'm silver? Hopefully my question makes sense!
