earliest you can book seats with avios as Gold

Hello,

This is my first post on this forum, and I've just recently discovered this forum and really enjoy it.

I was hoping someone here could provide some information. My husband is Gold with British Airways, and next summer (2013), our family (4 of us) will be taking a trip over to England in July. We live in Seattle, WA so we want to take the direct BA flight from SEA -> LHR (round trip). My husband has enough avios to fly us all Business Class.

He has called the Gold concierge number several times inquiring when the booking window will open for July 2013, because we realize getting 4 seats in Business Class in the summer will be hard to get and will get snatched up very fast.

Here's the dilemma. My husband seems to get a different answer every time he calls, and so it's hard to make sense of what information is correct.

One time he called the Gold number, he was told that there are actually Avios seats allotted just for Gold in business class, and this same person told him that Gold can book as early 12 - 13 months in advanced because they release the Gold avios seats that early.

Then, another time he called the Gold number, the person said Gold can book exactly 12 months out, but said nothing about seats alloted just for Gold.

Then, another time he called the Gold number, that person said Gold books no differently than all other levels (ie, no avios seats allotted just for Gold, etc), and Avios seats are available typically 11 months out.

Here's my question. Since we are flying in the summer and want to get 4 seats in business class with Avios, we want to book as soon as the booking window opens, but it seems really unclear as to when that booking window is for Gold (if there is even a different booking window for Gold). I was wondering if anyone here could offer any insight on this?

Thank you!
