Upgrading using Avios Points is permitted where flights are sold as part of a package holiday or where flights and ground arrangements, such as prepaid hotels, cars, transfers and experiences, are booked and paid for in the same transaction. Flights booked and paid for separately from any ground arrangements are also eligible for Upgrades using Avios Points for Upgrade. Upgrading using Avios Points for Upgrade can only be applied to bookings which are made in the member's Executive Club membership country.

I'd assume your fare is I-class and thus UuA fine, as above. Nicci has previously confirmed the 'not eligible for upgrade' fare rule text refers to cash. Std op procedure is to call again.

Please tell me I've not missed a change on this

I've just checked the fare class and it is definitely I class so surely it should be UuA? The agent was very nice and said she would put a request in my booking to upgrade with cash at the airport but I've got a fair few Avios that I would much rather use.

The thing is she left me on hold for 5 minutes to check with her supervisor/manager and confirmed that it was a very restricted ticket with no changes permitted (including upgrades). Do I need to call again to speak to another one?
