I suggest a trip to the Ala Moana Shopping center to pick up a plate lunch then across the street to eat it at the beach park.

If you can catch a band concert by the Royal Hawaiian Band (http://www.rhb-music.com) it is a memory. Founded in 1836 it is the only US band with a royal legacy. Catching them at the Kapiolani Park Bandstand is an even greater memory.
