Finnair cancels some of the weekly Hong Kong flights

Wanted to try AY after a while, but just had two of my upcoming long hauls cancelled,

, only ones I actually had booked with AY... Oh well, back to CX and BA then.

Finnair adjusts summer capacity plans

Finnair has adjusted its long haul capacity plans for this summer. Finnair will still operate 77 flights weekly between Helsinki and Asian destinations.

Due to delays of scheduled heavy maintenance work and a shortage of over flight rights during the busy summer season the following flights were forced to be cancelled:

AY41 Helsinki - Seoul: June 12th, June 13th
AY42 Seoul - Helsinki: June 13th, June 14th
AY61 Helsinki - Hong Kong: June 14th, June 15th, June 16th
AY62 Hong Kong - Helsinki: June 15th, June 16th, June 17th

Other flights between Helsinki and Hong Kong (AY69/AY70) remain unaffected.

Additionally, the company has decided to remove a total of four weekly frequencies from the combined Seoul and Hong Kong markets from June 18th through the end of October:

AY041 Helsinki - Seoul: Wednesdays
AY042 Seoul - Helsinki: Thursdays
AY061 Helsinki - Hong Kong: Mondays, Thursdays, Sundays
AY062 Hong Kong - Helsinki: Tuesdays, Fridays, Mondays

We are very sorry for the cancellations and we are doing our best to minimize the inconvenience caused to our passengers.

We do our best to contact the passengers on the flights affected directly. Please check from My booking that we have your current contact information.

If your flight is cancelled, you can change the travel dates within 12 months by contacting our international customer service or a travel agency. In Finland you may also call to +358 10 804060.

You can also fill in a refund application in order to get a full refund of the ticket fare.
