Living in Seattle, I did these runs to NYC a lot, parked at YVR, when I flew back and landed around 2am, it's easier to drive back to Seattle at late night (no traffic). One time I spent less than 2 hours to get to my house in Seattle from YVR (a bit over the speed limit hehe).
One thing you could do is, you can attach this CX888/9 leg to other OW flight in F, and it's worth the miles spent. Like I did YVR-JFK-LHR-JNB-CPT as one way award in F. I will also do YVR-JFK-AUH-BOM-CCU (combined with EY F) soon. You could even do YVR-JFK-NRT-Asia as well, with a stop over in NYC, (on CX F, then JL F) (As long as it's under MPM)
Sorry, yeah, meant the regular BA lounge. CX F pax in JFK can't go to the Concorde Room since that's for BA F pax. I was comparing to that.
I was thinking of using Avios for this route, 37.5K in F (which I value less than 32.5K AA miles since Avios are so abundant). But attaching YVR-JFK is great for an AA award too (as you can build in a stopover at JFK as well). If I ever do a 90K F award to Middle East/India on EY, I'll make sure to keep this in mind. ^
