I'm pretty sure one of the reasons why Russia was moved to the Europe zone was in fact a number of redemptions on LH and LX first class from Asia to Moscow and back for 40k. I think that was an abuse of the reward, and unfair for any person to expect a business to fork out thousands of dollars of ticket for a coue of hundred dollars the miles cost to buy.
Yeah, that's why it was moved. I don't really think it was an 'abuse' of the award. I actually wanted to visit Russia - why not do it for 40k after positioning to N. Asia? Pity I never got the chance to actually do this...
It might have been unintentional but I don't see how it was abused.
