I know that it looks really weird but if the weight really gets too much to hand-carry you can put the heavier bag on your back and wear the lighter backpack on your chest. It looks terrible but it sure is preferable to backpain or a slipped disc.

I also have the Tri-star, and when filled, it gets to be about 20-25 pounds. It's hard to overpack it and make it too heavy because it's just not that big. The weight I quote is with a laptop and some small books and then clothes.

And yes, I do sometimes go ninja-turtle style with a backpack in front. Then you can push people aside as you move around.
