Good: I hadn't thought in terms of "earn domestic Y, burn int'l J/F." I'm glad I do now, as I've had some fantastic international trips... many of which were inspired by FT trip reports (BA F to SYD the long way, for example). I've also gotten serious about earning in multiple ways and across alliances.

Bad: I think of the domestic Y awards I burned in the years before I read FT and think, "that's another international F trip's worth of miles!"

Now, I need to get a job that allows me to travel as much as clearly some FT'ers can and do. Right now I earn X hours of leave per pay period at my stable 9-5 job. Feel free to PM with ideas!
