HP is pretty good about making products that meet their advertised time. I've had several non lowend HP laptops and they meet or exceed in routine usage the advertised time. I had a convertible 12" that was rated with the extended battery around 6 hours, and I routinely went 7+ with it on wifi and working non stop (no video etc, mostly remote sessions)
