Not exactly.... UA sells seats to US for a discount, US (for whatever reason) holds out for less margin on that particular flight.
Happens in most industries, every day. Go to dell (or Lenovo/IBM) and price out a computer, take the same platform/model/etc. down to Comp USA/Best Buy/Tiger direct you will most likely find it for less.
