In reading the South African Airways website, it seems like South Africa generally follows the US/Europe "liquids rule." In practice, is this enforced -- no liquids over 100 ml?
I had a feeling I'd have to check any wine I'd bring back to the USA. But I'm wondering if I can bring a "regular" bottle of contact lens solution with me (I've flying to JNB, then on to Vic Falls, and back to JNB for a South African vacation). The SAA website refers to the "medications" exception to the 100 ml rule, which generally works for contact lens solution in the USA. Frankly, after a couple of hassles in the USA and elsewhere, I generally just pour my contact lens solution into tiny bottles to avoid any problems. But I'm going to S. Africa for several weeks, so it would be nice not to have to carry lots of little bottles.
