I checked again with the front desk to see if anything was available, and he again checked the system and mentioned that nothing was available.
When we arrived at our room, we noticed it had double beds. I immediately called front desk requesting a change. The front desk staff mentioned that there were no Single King available -- even if we wanted to downgrade back to a standard room. Was told that the hotel was sold out, and that they did not even have one room available. I explained that we were here only for a short stay (2 nights), that it was my anniversary gift for my wife. Still, the front desk persisted that there was nothing available. After we hung up, I check on SPG's website and surely enough, a club floor king bed room was available.
if you arrived close to midnight, there's a good chance that when you checked, the system was displaying the following night, no?
I explained to the front desk that my wife is getting a spa treatment at Noon, and she would like to freshen up afterwards.
the spa has much nicer facilities for freshening up.
