Dear all,
I wanted to share a great experience we just had flying SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK) with an infant. I understand a fellow FTer had reported a very unpleasant experience on a transatlantic flight with two children (

Our trip was a European flight, DUB-CPH. The infant fare was less than 10 euros (12 USD) but nevertheless included a free piece of checked baggage which allowed us to bring the folding travel bed with us - it was even loaded by hand into the hold after we mentioned its relative fragility. Our collapsible pushchair/buggy was tagged at check-in but only taken from us at boarding, even stored in the (empty) business class coat press on one leg so we could retrieve it quicker. On the way out, although on a fairly full flight, the two adult seats had been assigned with one empty seat blocked in the middle to give us more space.Throughout the flight, staff were friendly and helpful with many smiles and kind words for Baby - who even got a couple of SAS-branded toys: animals photo book, couple of 'finger puppets' and a little cat plush. All of which were dropped onto the floor, out of reach, a few times but picked up with a smile by passing staff when seatbelt sign was one and Mom and Dad could not get out of their seats.
All of this for a very low fare (much lower than on the "Low Cost Carrier" competition), on top of an already amazing sale for parents fares.
The only significant issue was an extremely long check-in due to an apparent glitch in the system that demanded paper tickets although we had booked e-tickets directly from website - this is apparently common with infant bookings online and happened both ways (over 90 minutes in DUB with handling agent, who had to constantly ring carrier and wait for return calls; over 40 minutes at CPH with SAS staff directly). We would have certainly missed at least outbound flight had we not been at airport 3 hours before.
Bar the check-in issue, an extremely pleasant experience and fantastic service at every level that we would definitely do again and heartily recommend.
Cheers,
J-
