Advice on checking in bags for positioning leg of ex-EU trip to Asia?
Hello Everyone,
I recently took advantage of a sale and booked an itininerary that is as follows:
EU airport to LHR - Club Europe: July 6
LHR to HKG -Club World
HKG to LHR -Club World
I am planning on purchasing separately a positioning flight on BA (LHR-EU airport) for the morning of July 6, but would like to so in coach(as I don't feel like spending 800 GBP of my own money for a 2.5 hour flight).
My question is: would I be able to check in my Hong Kong bound luggage at Terminal 5 on July 6th, or would I have to schlep everything to the EU first?
(checking bags to the EU would also cost me as I would like to check in 3 bags, and can only check in 2 free of charge because I'm an AA Plat)
Also, I have 7 hours in between my positioning flight, and my flight back to LHR, is this enough time? If there are disruptions getting to the EU in the first place will my ticket to Hong Kong be protected?
