That's certainly why I was planning on keeping it. I'll get a BA Amex for UK spend, keep my LTSBPDA for overseas, and dump my Amex Plat once the fee hike takes effect.

Depends on whether you're paying the bill yourself!
Remember, those extra Avios are costing you a ~3% loading fee - use something like a Halifax Clarity card, and you'll not earn anything, but you will get a beter exchange rate.
