On my last international flight - YVR to SYD - in February, I pulled out the life jacket pouch from my pod and the life jacket seemed a lot heavier and more substantial than the US Air FA's used for the safety demo on my way to Turks and Caicos (which seemed identical to the ones on the AC pre-flight safety video). I didn't pull the Life Jacket out of its pouch for fear of committing some sort of obscure felony, but now I'm bored at work and curious.
