So on the next trip to NYC I booked in Y, and at checkin got an upgrade to WT+ for £ 185. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised - decent chair albeit a shallow recline, reasonable food and a smaller cabin - I was also impressed by a crew who gave a damn as well.
All in all, I am now minded to travel WT+ - frankly my recent experience of Club has been so poor, and the quality of service offered so dire, that the money is no longer worth it for me on what is a relatively short journey.
I would be interested in your comments.
Personally, I find BA WT+ product not as good as QF's PE offering.
BA is marketed as economy plus and QF is marketed as a business light (I believe BA's food is now CW standard with limited choices, QF has priority boarding (which might add value to you or not), a pie available mid-flight (which is essential for me) and PDB on QF (which doesn't matter to me)).
I have to say, on my last WT+ flight the crew were good and responsive and was happy to be hassled with questions / request that I had.
Specific to your flight, which is not really a long long haul flight, a downgrade might be feasible if you don't need the flat bed. If the flat bed was so precious to me then I would stick to CW regardless of service (making sure to complain afterwards
).
