We were just reminiscing about our first trip to Hawaii in 97' Oahu and Maui -- We got RT airfare "sale" from STL for under $500. Rented a very nice condo on both islands - Waikiki and Makena - recall they were both around $150 a night or less. We used coupons for attractions and food. Plus, we went with friends and split the cost. Even adding in rental car, interisland air, food, misc. . . the whole trip was very reasonable then. Ah well, spend a tad more now

but it's still paradise!
