Wow, wish I had known about orbitz a long time ago. I'm going to be booking a multi-city this week; TPA-LAS July 1st, LAS-SAN July 2nd, SAN-TPA July 7th. On DL.$$ it prices at $2010 in FC, Orbitz it prices at $1166.
Anyone know of a way to make Orbitz show specific connecting airports? Looks like they save me $300 on my normal monthly FC round trip but would like to maximize MQM's too.
Did you actually select actual flights or use the price feature? I know there are instances Orbitz is coming up cheaper but the truth is you probably could call into Delta or force a booking thru delta.com using the same flights and get it cheaper.
Orbitz seems to have the better price engine functionality and that is what I think it really comes down to.
Orbitz allows airlines to compete against each other in the open market since it has multiple airlines including low fare carriers in the listings. JetBlue decided to enter in an agreement with the agencies. I believe Southwest is exclusive and only limited to booking directly.
Orbitz is one of those ways to book which seems to be working quite well.
