The North checkpoint does have an elite line (not called SP) that you can use if on DL. It is occasionally faster than the main line though, and usually faster than the South checkpoint (not counting Pre-check).

FYI, the Atlanta airport has a great mobile website that gives the real-time security wait times (http://iflyatl.com). Since I don't check bags it is easy for me to get to whichever checkpoint has the shortest wait.
