I have a 2:45 scheduled connection at JNB, so I presume I'd make it even if weather forced a stop. I'm guessing the refueling would take about an hour.
The SAA flight JFK-JNB-JFK is nonstop in both direction. Approx. 15 hours on the JFK-JNB sector and 16 hours on the JNB-JFK sector. This flight has been operating nonstop in both directions for over a year and have not heard of any instances where it has had to make a technical stop for fuel.
