Ethnic (Indian) market in the north east corridor, centred around JFK and EWR is the largest ethnic Indian in north America. An airline that can attract enough customers can serve both. Inability to serve both airports with sustainable load factors is the larger problem of Indian carriers losing their market share. Some Indian passengers are willing to fly to either--cheaper one, of course.
